He started capoeira at the age of seven in a "Community Sport Project" organized by Academy Cordao de Ouro and the local Goverment witch take place at local community "Embaixado do Morro", where he trained until the age of fifteen when he moved to the Cordao de Ouro main Academy.
Casquinha became an Professor of capoeira in 2000 with master Jose Antonio C.D.O Guaratingueta.
